Tradeshow Exhibit Rentals: Observations from a New Industry Insider

Six months into his tenure as an Exhibit Systems Account Manager, John Zipay of Trade Show Supply, Inc., a national provider of tradeshow displays, rental exhibits, and installation and dismantle labor services, talks about how working for an exhibit service provider helps him solve customers problems.

“Exhibit rentals are a great way to stretch budgets and solve customer problems. Because we’re based in Orlando, Florida and we are just 1 mile north of the Orlando Convention Center complex, we find a lot of clients visit us on short notice, and with a vague idea of some tradeshow exhibit display that they saw and liked. Often it was something they viewed at their last tradeshow event. They’ll ask us if there’s an exhibit design that we can provide at the last minute. Ironically, the exhibit rental solution we provide starts with a sketch on a scrap of paper or napkin the client gives us. Followed by the question:

“Can you do this? And can it be ready for my tradeshow next week?”

“ I’ve discovered how fortunate I am that I work with an extremely talented tradeshow exhibit support team, which includes a great designer. He can take a very rough display concept, and quickly turn it into a fully functional tradeshow booth design, complete with graphic messaging and appropriate exhibit accessories. Most exhibit attendees would never know it’s a tradeshow rental booth. Our display designer, Jason Hernandez, is a seasoned veteran. He understands the need to deliver high impact exhibit design, on whatever budget a tradeshow exhibitor provides us. Jason can personalize any tradeshow rental booth package with a client’s existing logo and marketing message…and he often uses his tradeshow design expertise to come up with new and creative booth graphics for our clients.”

“I really enjoy the satisfaction that comes from helping clients. It feels great when I can help them see their company in a whole new way,” says Jason Hernandez, Exhibit Design Specialist.

“Once the display design process is complete, the exhibit rental items and purchased display graphics are produced and pulled from our tradeshow exhibit rental depot. The entire exhibit is then previewed at our 25,000 sq.ft. exhibit rental and service center in Orlando, FL. By investing the time in a full exhibit preview prior to the tradeshow installation at show site, we ensure that all exhibit rental components and booth graphics fit perfectly, and give our customers the piece of mind that their tradeshow exhibit is truly their own “custom exhibit solution”.

John Zipay explains that very often clients will ask Trade Show Supply to include rental LCD’s or tradeshow plasma displays in the preview as well. “A full dress rehearsal is the best way to ensure the installation and dismantle process goes smoothly”, explains Chris Griffin, Trade Show Supply’s General Manager.

“Clients are always impressed with our process of taking a rudimentary concept---hand drawn on a napkin--- designing it in 3-D animation, and bringing it to life as a tradeshow exhibit structure. And to be able to do it in such an efficient and cost effective manner blows them away."

Once the tradeshow exhibit is finalized, we offer a tradeshow booth staff training workshop to our exhibitors’ employees that will help them select and prepare the exhibit staff, so that they can effectively generate qualified tradeshow leads for follow-up after the show.

“We see it as our responsibility to not just provide the tradeshow booth and graphics, but to do everything we can to help our customers get the tradeshow results they’re after”.
